An Old Friend, I Lost Contact for Years

Have you had a friend way back from times you almost forget but the memories still linger in your mind? It’s always good to remember people who chanced upon your young life and become a part and parcel of it. A person who is very special to you, but one way or another you lost contact with for so a long time.

It is my wife who told me about her long lost friend. She chanced upon old files together with old photos. Really, picture tells a thousand words especially brings back time, as if caught in nostalgia. There she saw an old faded picture. It was an old picture of her with classmates during their high school days. Among them is Analiza. She was one of the special friends of my wife, Jennifer. Another undated picture of same young lady riding in human-drawn cart taken in Singapore.

Analiza Dumapias, her full name, was a high school classmate and friend of Jenny (as my wife is fondly called). They were in third year. It was the years 1986 to 1987 at the Philippine Air Force College of Aeronautics in Villamor Airbase, Pasay City. Ana (her nickname) didn’t finish her study in that school. Since the father of Ana was working in an airline company, they always move from place to place. The following year, Ana and her family moved to Australia. It was ensued by some exchanges through mails. My wife is a confessed languid letter writer. She was not able to answer all of Ana’s letters. Some responses were even too delayed. It was along with the fact that Jenny just got into married life. The last letter was received sometime in 1991. It was never returned. She became too busy on earning for the family of her own. After that, they lost contact. It was absolute zero communication, up to now. Ana’s last known address is Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Jenny wants to locate Ana and establish communication. It is the reason why Jenny asks me to publish this open letter in my blog.
